6th Meeting 3-7 July 2013 - Castiglione del Lago/ Italy

Minute 6th International Meeting – Castiglione del Lago, Italy –
2nd-6th July 2013

2nd July
Arrival of Uk delegation composed by 3 persons, Vensa and 2 more learners.

3rd July
With the UK partners we went to Montepulciano, discovering the Tuscany landscape, tasting very good wine, visiting an ancient Vinary. Before to do it we visited the exhibition of Giorgio de Cherico, “De Chirico & Portraits” in the Fortezza Poliziana. A very impressive exhibition, nice and the location was amazing.
In the afternoon, Vensa and Co. visited Castiglione del Lago, the lakeside and the environment that surrounded the peninsula.
All the partners are coming and we celebrated our first ensemble dinner in Castiglione del Lago.

4th July
Located in Hotel Aganoor, in the historical centre of Castiglione, all the parters are ready at 9:30 to start our work for the final report. The session work was very productive and stimulated; people who didn’t attend the session enjoyed their morning in the lakeside.
At 13:30 we came all together to Ristorante la Cantina, trying our typical food products. After the lunch we continue to work to our final report.
At 16:00 we started the guided visit of the ancient renaissance palace, object of several research and works in this project, and the medieval fortress. After it we went to visit the frescoed and suggestive small church of San Domenico.
After the guided visit, free time for the group and then all together at the dinner in Ristorante la Cantina.

5th July
9:30 - All the partner involved in the workshop called “QRHUNT” treasure hunt in the Historical centre of Castiglione del Lago through mobile device using the free public wi-fi.
Participants divided in groups.
Italian partner prepared a questionnaire with questions about history, architecture, culture, nature and culinary aspect of Castiglione del Lago and a map with the QR code disseminated in the town. It’s was very funny and for us (Italian team) responsible for this project (QR) in our town, it represented a good test and feedback.
For lunch we visited a farm “Az. Agricola Bittarelli”, in the countryside between Umbria and Tuscany, testing their typical products and wines. They showed us how they work the fields, technics, tools, timing and different products. After we made the Route of Fagiolina el Trasimeno, a guided tour focused on the typical product “The Fagiolina”, From Etruscan product, to popular food, to expensive typical product.
After we went to Perugia, visit of the city centre, underground Etruscan city, panoramic views and ice-cream.

10- 12 October
1.  The Agenda was adopted and a coordinator’s country presented their activities and plan on how to proceed with the proposed project.  Each partner organization presented their activities and talked about their view on the project. The Coordinator collected all presentations and after a short break we talked about the project  itself, our experience in the previous European projects and about the best way in how to organise our new mobilites.
2.  We decided jointly to change some dates related to the initial plan and the Italian partner offered to host the last meeting in Castigllione de Lago, when we have to finalise Report and EST . Initially, this was not an option. All partners agreed that this meeting should be in June 2013.
3. We also changed slightly the dates of our mobilites, because we decided that it would be more practical and beneficial if we go together with our learners to all the mobilites at the same time. Some organisations had exams planned at the initially planned dates or other obligations so the new dates are as follows:
Slovenia: 10-12 October 2011   (Kick off Meeting)
Cyprus: 9-12 February 2012     (Arts and Craft)
Austria: 21-24 June 2012           (History and Heritage)
                     Spain: 4-7 October 2012           (Architecture)
UK: March 2013                      (Food and daily culture)
                      Italy: June 2013                        (Final Report)
4.  We decided that at each meeting the host partner should present one of the proposed themes (in brackets), and all other partners will prepare something interesting from their countries related to that team. We also decided that it would not be rigid so if we have some ideas on how to enrich these meetings with some cultural event, related to the theme or bit wider, we should organise it and present it as the joint outcome of that meeting. We plan to take film and photographs of these events and put it on the website. At the end of the project we plan to do a CD/DVD with all four meetings, events and cultural presentations. 5.  We also planned the most urgent activities and how to share responsibilities between the partners in relation of the project. So, the following partners accepted to work on the following tasks during the project:
Slovenia: to collect all information, to organise the meetings and agendas, to coordinate all the mobilities and to receive all partner’s proposals related to the presentations during the mobilities or hosting the mobility.
Cyprus and Italy: will work jointly on the website and other online facilities, including downloading of the photographs to Piqassa. In fact the Cypriot partner have done already a basic design and registration of the Blog-website which we all agreed to use and to update and promote. Italian partner will organise Youtube and Picassa for the download of the photographs. All partners will place their information, feedback, dissemination and other relevant topics on their country’s page and the Coordinator will maintain the general home page related to all of the partners activities.
6.  We also agreed to translate all activities in our native languages and the UK partner will edit English versions for all. We decided to encourage young people to learn languages and to promote their own in spite of its limited use across Europe (like some small countries do not have their languages widespread).
7.  Slovenia presented their examples of Good Practices and projects which they already run or just finished. We discussed which good practice we can apply in our project because each country work with something specific, so combination of our experiences will be probably one example of good practices among our different partnership. We talked how to keep documents and all relevant information regarding the project, to send information after the meetings to the coordinator and to keep a list of people who attended the mobilites. Also to record all activities, invite media and TV if possible to record and help to disseminate the project. We shall have all records kept from the beginning of the project and to keep all minutes, also on the website, where they would be accessible to all partners at any time. Activities:
8.  Our host organised visit to the Art Gallery where Slovenian best artists were displayed. The gallery is in the house of the most famous 19/20th century painter Bozidar Jakac, whose work we could see and follow his professional development through his endless travels. After being inspired by art we were invited to attend an artist’s led workshop, where we were given canvases, paints and brushes to create a logo for our Project. It was fun and definitely discovery of the talents we never knew we possessed. We congratulate our coordinator, and two real artists who helped us paint, on such good idea. Photographs of our paintings are kept with the coordinator and may be used for some purposes in the future.
9.  The following day we visited one of the most interesting archaeological museums and definitely one of the most important for Dolenjska region. We learned a lot about the region, its early history from the Neolith and Bronze age and arts and crafts, which is unique not only for Slovenia but Europe too.
10. After the visits we gave our views on the project and what we think we could do with our learners during the mobilities or when host our meetings. It was very constructive and original discussion and many possibilities presented themselves inspired by the partners brainstorming session. We were really satisfied with this meeting, and we are going home with the clear aims about the project.
11. We also visited a small church in the mountains, St George-16th century, restored to its original look by the local people’s contribution. There we visited the Matjaz’s Home, a farmhouse with vineyard and beautifully restored small alpine shale style cottage, meant to be the tourist attractions and to support sustainability of the local community. They have an original art and craft, also prepared tasty and unique dishes and served a famous vine Cvicek, which is acclaimed as the only Slovenian domestic product registered as commodity.
12. The last day was a meeting to decide the final details of our talks and the Slovenian partner had organised a special event -TV and press  conference - where they introduced the project to the regional viewers and the Italian, UK and Spanish partners talked about their organisations and why they join Slovenia in these activities. It was a nice banquet after the conference which sealed our partnership and shown us that we shall work on it jointly and with enthusiasm. The outcome of our meeting is also forging more friendships and  better communication among the partners.
